Introducing "The Serverless Mindset"
A newsletter for technologists implementing serverless in their projects and teams
February 1st, 2022. Today, I am excited to announce the launch of “The Serverless Mindset”, a newsletter dedicated to leaders and forward-thinking software engineers using serverless in their projects and teams. Every week, you will receive an easy-to-digest pro-tip or insight. You can implement this information into your serverless projects straight away and gain immediate benefits.
Startups and fast-moving teams have much to worry about as they try to build disruptive and innovative products in a fraction of the time that would normally be required. In a highly competitive market, being able to go from idea to execution quickly and effectively is key, and being a few months too late may be what turns a perfectly good product into a failing enterprise.
Serverless technologies have shown their value in drastically reducing the amount of undifferentiated heavy lifting that teams have to worry about. With serverless and managed cloud services, you can spend more time thinking about your business logic and less time setting up servers and clusters.
Unfortunately, advice on how to use these technologies is either scarce or intimidating. A robust body of best practices appears (on the surface) to be lacking. On the other hand, many will come out declaring that their way of using Lambda or DynamoDB is a “best practice”.
“The Serverless Mindset” aims at cutting through this noise. It will share sensible, tried and tested advice that can be actioned quickly. It will suggest good ideas and practical directions as well as the right context and caveats so that you can make an informed choice as to whether such advice will work for your project and team.
The newsletter is free for everyone who wants to receive it. A paid membership option is also available; it will allow you to support the work I am doing, as well as receive additional content and direct access to myself and the rest of the community.
I am excited to begin this journey, and I thank you for being part of it!
